Google Chrome Os - Rush Time

As for Google mentioned :

" Google Chrome OS is an open source, lightweight operating system that will initially be targeted at net-books. Later this year we will open-source its code, and net books running Google Chrome OS will be available for consumers in the second half of 2010. Because we’re already talking to partners about the project, and we’ll soon be working with the open source community, we wanted to share our vision now so everyone understands what we are trying to achieve. "




But the major leaks I found is every file you store move or even trash happens to be in remote server .


It is similar to saying even your personal credential files will be exposed to them and your only allocated necessary privileges to access the files . I dono how far it is gonna be secure .




Persons with limited network bandwidth will be harder to use because each operation is a complicated network oriented .




Third even if I have huge hard disk say several TB's we are forced to access file from/to network which adds on burden for traditional off-line users .





As they mentioned Chrome OS as LIGHT WEIGHT BROWSER BASED OS they doesn't seem to match with high end gaming as well as with advanced hardware and software support . They seem to simplify more as only single processor is utilized even you have multi-core's.( Under utilization of available resource as far as I learnt :))





Guess this is a better matched OS for atom based processors and x86 series.



well this time Im expecting a real worthy OS from Google ( rather years ago I got a distro named GOS which is nothing rather than a new Themed Ubuntu :P)

Grub or Lilo ? what are they ?

well before stating about GRUB and LILO let me briefly say what are they :

They are Boot loaders .. Exactly they are piece of code which places your operating system from secondary hard disk to RAM when you switch on your PC . Thats why we say ' My PC didn't boot ' instead saying like Iron box or TV doesnt switch 'on' .



well any how this doesn't be much seen by naive users and mostly hidden Then why care about those thing ?

even seems like its hidden it has many consequence on multiple OS environment . If you used Linux past three years before then you will be more familiar about grub error 17 stage 1.5 error ( once we annoyed at this strange one and thought even hardware is totally gone useless :D )

I know speaking about grub and LILO is a most unresolvable one like we already have

Is Google Go gonna take a go?

Well Google is a is an American public corporation, earning revenue from advertising related to its Internet search, e-mail, online mapping, office productivity, social networking, and video sharing services as well as selling advertising-free versions of the same technologies. Google has also developed an open source web browser and a mobile operating system.


Recently I heard about something like a Browser called chrome and Latest Wave ( every one fights for it ) and another project recently put on my ears is Google go .



Whats it exactly ?

well name doesn't reveal any of its identity about the product ( similar to every open source softwares does ;)) is a new language gonna be developed by Google team nearly 5 years of hard work from now .



Google's Go could improve on existing programming languages by simplifying development without sacrificing application performance, but it will likely take years for Go to attain an established position that will allow it to have a noticeable impact.

I dono what this guys gonna do with Python and Ruby rather stay away from this field ..




If its a productive and cleaner language well other than few years of dumping its library and making its syntax familiar , its a less burden thing for me :)


But this guys sucked at chromium ( Linux edition of chrome ) with loads and loads of fatal errors and shooting bugs .

Linux lags in Gaming ?

Well why Linux lags in gaming than windows , is a question nagging in most of Linux minds ...

As apart saying , geeks don't play games or games are meant for lazy windows user or use Wine instead doesn't seems like a satisfactory answer


Well why is it so , does Linux doesn't have the necessary modules or its a OS for who doesnt know what is entertainment and games actually mean



Before , what makes windows run all the top most games is a hardware abstraction layer called DirectX 3D Linux have better one called OpenGL



1. Direct3D is a proprietary API that provides functions to render three dimensional graphics, and uses hardware acceleration if it is available on the graphics card. It was designed by Microsoft Corporation for use on the Windows platform.



2. OpenGL is an open standard API that provides a number of functions for the rendering of 2D and 3D graphics and is available on most modern operating systems. If hardware 3D acceleration is present, OpenGL can use it.




I too had a watch of rare Linux games that are standard like open arena ,tremulous and some more first person shooter game

Then still why there is no standard games ( as there are for windows ) developed for linux still even it has everything it needs?


Because I can only see games like Tux ( grand old Mario ) , chess , mines and so small packed games (x<1 MB)




Is it mean people using a OS say X can only afford such a huge amount for mere gaming entertainment ?



Is this a Politics of Microsoft or no work teams of Linux wanna take the risk of developing ?

or select the package in synaptic it will automatically resolve dependency's








LibGraph Installing and configuring:

First download libgraph from here

Then as usual extract
tar.gz and run

./configure
make
make install

write some c with graphics implemenation and name it as test.c

Thats it :D








Now compile and run the file as:

g++ test.cpp -o test.o -lgraph
And execute the program by ./test.o

-lgraph links with graphics library


if you get any shared library error ( ofcourse most people get this thing)

then shift as sudo cp /usr/local/lib/libgraph.* /usr/lib






you may now see a SDL output window showing smooth graphical 32 bit output (rather resorted dos window :P )

Google wave

Every one from email users to high end technocrats speak about this Google wave ...



Its sounds every where but sad thing is we can use it only with invites :(



This is not new for Google the same thing happened when gmail was introduced . well whats it why people long for it ?

as Google :

next point photo sharing instead you need not go for separate thing like picasa , flickr , phototub , etc

And interactive games too have been added to play online ( guess this is alrdy in yahoo )


finally its not at all in need of any software as previous gtalk, picasa etc


every thing is embedded in pure browser environment making simple and integrated



how to get invite ?

i)whenever you move out to particular distance then your Linux PC automatically locks ( assuming you carry the Bluetooth enabled device with you ;) )


ii) when you are back it unlocks depending on the signal it receives

Semester five .. well a suckiest sem I have ever seen .


well every time I speak I used to say the latter is the worst . But now situation seems more and more bad :) . Writing exams for filling up 3 hours and not even bothering about labs . But actually that's the sem i thought to do lots and more :P .


successfully completed my semester examinations at worser than worse. That doesn't even matter for me . Thought of enjoying a full month leave .Nothing gonna help me releaving from this boring holidays ( I tried everything I can ) . But happiest one is Sem V is no more . I have passed by one of the 8 . ( Not sure about results )




But this semester made a huge list of remarkable things and actually I feel the semester I have enjoyed a lot relatively . Proximity knows about that :P. Let it B.


Thought of doing some useful things in this holidays .Let me see what awaits ;) .

Curious case of Benjamin button ( 2008 )

Life is a symmetrical . We have a growing phase ,stabilize at same point then shrinking phase when we turn older and feeble.Vice versa is the story line .Even it seems more paradoxical and no supportive scientific ideas have been supported this movie seems great.








Movie seems a bit slow but steady in its flow of scenes .starting with Daisy the story rolls on towards so many interesting personality ( Quinnie is my favorite of all , a motherly goddess) . I dono why clock maker gateau interrupts the story . Short and tragic about him . Then story captures it real pace , Thomas button abandons his child . Why the baby was so ugly and what made him so was not clearly explained ( since its not a fiction film :P ) .









Quinine takes the baby and grows it irrespective all the obstacle she faces from her man and doctor ... why he cries like normal baby when stamped by Tizzy under stairs rather feeble voice of a old man . Every one miracles about survival of this man . If they wanna tell really about reversal of phases why Benjamin plays with spoon and wanna play like rest children :P ( as in first phase of benjamin) .





Then starts working with tug boat and knows part of life.And enjoys everything he can . I guess the only girl left around entire film is Caroline :P. As the film has two perspective views from Daisy side and Benjamin side,makes viewers more interesting and careful to watch in every scenes.







" Death's are quiet natural and its the only sign of remembrance of a person "




is the point more stressed and I feel out of this film . Death of Quinnie ,one who made Benjamin a place to stand in this earth when none did .I guess the movie can still be shortened and may prevented the viewers losing their patience. The last moment when Benjamin turns out to baby and when he closes his eyes finally , I can feel entire thrust of the film .





A good time pass rather fixing schedule to watch this film .if you get free time this one is a watchable slow paced film .

Best Torrent Downloader I have ever seen

I have a 2 Mbps broadband connection and was struggling to download torrents ( even with plenty of seeders beside) with my windows and bit torrent.



I'm really frustrated with torrents and started searching direct downloads ( but many things we need are not available thro' direct download).





When I tried the same torrent files in my Ubuntu Desktop edition I can see a drastic raise in torrent speed shooting up from mere 20-22 KB/s to 222 and even reaching my highest of 250 KB/s :O..





I'm really confused what makes windows such a slow in torrent ( but i know the speed IDM does in windows :) )rather in Ubuntu and other linux .




I use transmission bit torrent client fastest torrent I have ever seen







If you wanna fastest direct link downloader ( like IDM in windows ) Then have a look at AXEL a fastest downloader .


but its still available only in command line version sorry for GUI suckers .Its gives me speed up to 272 KB/s( I cant imagine this with default Firefox DM) .

If you are a newbee to ubuntu or cant leave some of the features of windows then best way to use virtual os.

Now make your gui easier and use both at same time.

Install virtualbox a free virtual os manager from sun microsystems .


sudo apt-get install virtualbox



run as super user (or else you may get errors at times )



sudo virtualbox



install the virtual os , before that create a virtual hard disk of required size




go to the settings tab of virtualbox and


mount the xp or vista iso image

click start button and you must get a boot option do as prompted


then on the mode use


seamless mode



thats it ! now you can use both OS with single interface

Ubuntu 9.10 release

Ubuntu is a free open source software distributing free cd's all around the world as every one knows ,

by the past ubuntu release 9.04 Im really sucked up , I had to install everything from Sound driver to configuring my webcam

But this release made my installation as simple as eating a cake , Every hardware

i) hp laserjet printer 1020 plus
ii) Microdia webcam
iii) gigaget sound driver
iv) Mesa graphics driver
v) network

all drivers have been automatically installed at end of installation :D


note :
Please plugin all your available hardware to pc when you start installation

bcoz its little harder in post installation

And finally Im surprised by the option MOBILE BROADBAND at network connection which makes gprs connection through mobile far far easier than windows

Next as a new feature Pidgin had video and voice chat for gtalk as well as file transfer support ( The main reason why I switch onto windows is no more :P)

Above all GAMING is major reason why windows is still in many box , here comes an end , CEDEGA supports 3d acceleration in ubuntu 9.10 that made my games faster and reduced pixelation when i play

but thing is i dont know to crack ( as we usually do ) in cedega :( so u can use only genuine cd's

If you are still stuck with windows and cant change out abruptly then try wine or cross over ( if you can really afford such a huge amount )

Im pleased to use Ubuntu 9.10 as early as its released and really its far better than 9.04 with many bugs fixed up

ii) Database is needed
iii) You have to upload and download each files one by one
iv) You must know the absolute path of file
v) even if ur family knows ur password they cant see files you frequently see ;) since its in blob format as records :P

insert a tuple in outbox table to message to your friends

Eye cursor

Eye Cursor is a mobility-aided device for persons with
moderate/severe physical disabilities or chronic diseases as well as
the elderly
.
Mouse is one of the traditional method of controling a
computer. But handicap are not suitable for using mouse. Hence as a
replacement of mouse for them and easify us too in controlling our pc
we can have another method of controlling it. That is using eye’s
(pupil) motion to move cursor on screen and right and left eye wink to
make clicks around the pc’s . The plan is to make a cheaper
replacemnt of mouse hence every one gets benefited .
Main hardware parts needed are a vga camera with light
and a accelerometer , ir sensor all comes around a price of 2000 and
even gets decreased when fabricated into single hardware.
Java is used as software driver which works on set of
fractionally captured images and performs movemnet on screen
relative to pupil. And the add on features like retinal encryption is
implemented if user wants secure mode of transaction.

Saving Private Ryan

Steven Spielberg's great movie. Rather animative or more fiction as rest of his movies , this one is a real paced movie about a war.


The movie is all about bringing back a man James Ryan from battle field to home , since rest of his brothers have dead in action .A troop of eight under Capt. Miller searches for Ryan . Every character is depicted more keenly and each one's death remembers the moment they lived before in film . Stale one is story of Ryan's remembrance of his brothers . Mass Death at sea shore and entry of battalion seems more wet .

Mysteries thing is why German troop man call's Upham( American translator under miller ) by his name before he is shot dead. Reiben's Head shot on German sniper remembers me the same thirst of revenge i felt in subramanipuram . Tasting fruits in middle of charge turns out the serious one which's needed to humorous . Same flash back trend can be viewed here. Old aged Hero Private Ryan comes back to his past war memories .





I can speak lot about the captains role. Highly responsible man open to all corporals. His response to all humorous questions from the troop soldiers states , how he value the question even from his lower grade soldier. The word FUBER is unexplained till end.

well Meet you back after a long time due to some personal reasons ( my free limit for internet is reached ) . our department culturals so called esperto is to be held on august 22 . decided to participate on some events. Then paper too s pending for honey well . well have to search for it. Then very lazy classes .late night sleep and 8 o clock wake up has become my life. Data warehousing abstract is too pending to be submited .

Of course I wasted this day .Late wake up around 12 and then had my favourite coffee . Im becoming too lazy nowadays. feeling lazy to eat , bath ,and even get up from the bed . well lets see where it neds ends

Well Today i thought of getting early and finish off that record shit . but ofcourse I didnt ( Guess u knw hw lazy Im) .Then Have to cut my first hour and wrote my record . Then went to lab ( after a long gap) boldly. as usual she( staff in charge ) pinpointed a utter useless mistakes ( which are not at all relevant to subject say: " why y u didnt underline sub headings" , "one class constructor is missing ") I dont even get what this guys get by criticising us . well let that pessimistic guys lick .

But Im basically fascinated by networks, a beautiful world of 1's and 0's transformed even to live video chatting .well i guess half an hour is more than enough for our lab session and rest time may alloted to bring out our innovative ideas . damn sure i will change this entire schema of this higher education if I get a chance .

one of my boring lab session

Well today got up early then havent prepared for my lab . hence i have to cut my 3 and 4 th period ( as usual we do to write records ). before period is dbms , hard thing to bear a lump of wage hard disk stories RAID ( who needs these drums and tapes in age of "solid state disks " ) . After two hours of wage old granee stories I had escaped to pump house ( my favourite relaxing place ) and however managed to take print out and wrote record .


Then as usual enter lab with no hopes and our ultimate aim is ATTENDANCE ATTENDANCE and only attendance . I however sustained to survive there since I had my record finished .Then browsing around systems and chatting with friends ( time passed by ) .who the bull shit made lab hours to three session . This made us more painfull job to cross by this sucky hours.
well then times up and we had to move out ( the moment i ever aim for after entering lab ) . then as i aid i went to tech quiz . my mate is absent and hence we moved up with aswin . then Fairly easy question . Bad luck we missed the easiest qn . well no probs Before entering finals i had no idea about going .


This is far better answering two questions we met. Then came back late home at 7 . then had to write my networks record . maths tutorial and lots more.

Mathematics - Basic CAT

Well as far as mathematics is concerned its more simpler elementary mathematics there.
But time is the only factor which decides the toppers in CAT . hence its so good to have shortcuts for elementary addition , multiplication .Repettative solving of all possible cat questions can only help you in finishing of question in esteemed time .

English a basic need for CAT

Ya english is higly needed for scoring a reasonable mark in CAT . May be easier for who have completed BEC or TOEFL or other standard courses . well then for who start from scratch wihout enough knowledge in english ( like me ) you may do read "The Hindu " .

I know its a tougher job to start with reading even a paragraph at start . Then find the words which are new words Have a mark ther . then proceed reading till para ends. Then come back to first line search in your dictionary the words . ( kind advice is to have a book edition of dictionary rather refering softwares ) . well then read the para again ( with meaning of every words known ) and understand the meaning.

At start most of the words in newspaper may resemble new to you . But they will start reducing if you proceed this till atleast amonth .then move on from a single para to few para 's extra .then increase the number of pages you read per day.

Test how many words you can read at one minute .keep track on this and reduce this for even complicated paragraphs .

Culturals in My college

well late entry to college . Not sure about mam's mind set she left us in. Then consquent classes ( hard thing to bear) made me mad.Then wrote csi c contest prelims today . Hope i wrote well . But i have to concentrate on that ( as said earlier ). then we have been selected to tech quiz finals at 10 th. Hope its a good news since even im unaware of current affairs i crossed it. Then have to prepare for TGMC ( remember long time ago...)

Decided to put paper on BITS. Even its of no worth I thought of making a try. Guess I have to tune a lot before presenting Live.


Then we had culturals named shristi today. about two hours of stale speech ( evry one got irritated at end )
the culturals actually begun . inspired by their songs and dance (not all) . came home late by eight .

Head ache starts ............

As i said internals are over by yesterday the writing works like assigment started .We have to write a bulk of record for networks ( even its off no use) and assigments ( only during class hours we used to write ) .

Then got up late today (8:10) and have to hurry up in morn. As usual classses are up . I have been suspected to write assigments today by my mam ( not sure whom she said ) .Then did my C contest finals today afternoon . Even its easier we struggled a bit. Came straight back to home .Planned to go my friends home .


I planned of taking a short documentry ( if i get enough mates ) for our college contest . Then I love riding my bike ( even its very short span from i have started riding ) especially today in that smooth zigzag roads from our college I loved it .

End of INTERNALS I ( at fifth semester )

mmm..... Well thats it , thats the end of my first internals today . Till sad about my worst performance . a border pass in mathematics (50%) and rest of worst paper are till to come . I got up early today ( by 7:45 am) and wrote my networks record . thennn... nothing more pleasent today .
I did my tech quiz today at eve some what fair question . Then c contest finals tomorrow . And as usual mokkai classes afternoon .

As i mentioned earlier I didnt even touched my book yesterday . My friend ashwin and me had cut the exams today.A bad start this sem with many failures and even becomes worse as cutting the examinations . well i guess i will catch up back in semster else my destiny ends there.

The viva voce resembled very obsolete and bad slang ( the way mam spoke ) .even i have to tolerate back . well then reached home now . then I have to write the lab record since i didnt for past . Sunday - Only day I like in the week

After all lectures and assigments ,tutorial, observation , records ( a big head ache for me) I feel free this day .

Throwing out all this non sense and a pleasent noon sleep ( ever I long for this in a week ) and having coffee at 5 eve.Then as usual nothing useful today even I was unable to sleep till 11 morn due to my CAT class . Ofcourse This is an add on for my head ache which depletes even my sunday pleasure .


Well I have to study hard TO STUDY HARD in MBA . I didnt know what even MBA comprises of . This is the same feeling which I had ( 3 years before ) when I joined BE Computer Science and engineering from mere BIO-MATHS background . you may be familiar with poem of blind mans representing a Elephant . similiarly at that time i used to look strangely at C programs . But now programming is mere an art of entertainment.


Well even of two days leave I didnt even touched my networks book ( remember I have internals tomorrow on that ) . Well Im leaving for group study ( angaum suma thaan iruka porom ) and too had to write record for my networks lab ( remember I have been expelled out Past 2 times ) to avoid the same. Internals I semester 5

A sucky internal in my course of Be . I think about three to four fails till date. then I have to start study to maintain an average gpa. last bench in class so good sleep every day . Then meet after the internal papers are distributed .

First paper in life

First time I did my paper in this fifth semester. No nervousness Im very happy ( because in second and third semesters i used to be afraid and shiver a lot to even say my name and city during first class of the semester ). But now i have devloped myself a courage that helps me a lot from getting rid of unwanted fears ( tamila sona gethu) . My paper is about " EYE CURSOR " i guess the topic itself is self explanatory . I got second price . Thats more cooler . My friend Rajesh had helped me a lot . Thank you rajesh . then apart from topic side my friend circle encouraged me rather blocking ( as doing usually) . This price is dedicated to RAJESH

Back from Iv

Sorry for very late post of my IV. I had enjoyed lot even its a freezing cold and dripping around. I had nice time there a delightfully new hill station ( i had never visited ooty before) and as a sad part we havent visited doda beta due to raining . Bus journey this time is quite interesting rather than past train experience. Then coordinator did his job better than the best , good leader and my close friend too . Even words spilled once makes a huge distance ever . And our rep too did his job upto the scratch ( hope every one knows this).

Higher studies

Now i have to proceed my life to another stage. thats my higher studies. i had no idea till this semester. then finally thought of proceeding in CAT ( even its tougher and herculian task to accomplish). I have my friend too there thats the only hope i have. Then a dull and lazy semseter i have ever faced is this one. I have to increase my english as well as mathematical ( i lack here) skill . I think i will do my best atleast for the sake of my parents (as did in hopeless lazy schooling ). Going to TIME at sundays as a part of coaching ( even I know they are not more than money grabbers ). I did my os exam model semester iv today. not fair . I know i can’t attend 5 lesson same happend . I have to work hard for networks . But nothing enters my head in that subject. Not tough But sucky . Microprocessor next . I had my bike almost empty and afraid i may have to push it back to my home.
same 7′o clock sleep today . now time is 9:30 . Then i missed some one today. I went to cousin’s home today seeing the locked doors i came back home.Nothing special . A calm sleepy day as usual.
